Took less than 30 minutes to install and configure. Can now put this printer anywhere in the room and print away.
It would have been 5 stars but the instructions were not as clear as they could be and you will see a noticeable slowdown in the printing speed. I can print from across the room now. This product came and it was easy to install, after I figured out where it went. It paired with the laptop right away and works just great, eliminating a need for one set of wires.
I really wonder why Canon's manual is just not detailed enough. When the printer (which is really excellent) prints out text it also prints out extraneous characters when using Bluetooth.I am going to try it on another Mini with Internet access and see what happens. Of course, it may be me. I'm still trying to get the Bluetooth connection working. I was trying it on a Mac Mini with no Internet connection.
Other than the false alarm in the printer software that I get while running it over bluetooth, no other problems were encountered. The only quirk is that the computer reports that the printer is malfunctioning or something, even though it's working fine. This seems to work fine for me. When I send a print job to the printer while running in bluetooth, it prints just fine.
It is extremely convenient. It's wonderful to be able to stick this printer anywhere and print wirelessly. Expensive but worth the cost, in my opinion. The Canon IP90v is a great little printer - perfect for what I bought it for, printing small volumes of documents in a hotel room or other off-site location. The BU-10 attachment makes a great printer even better.
